Our Fundraising Focus
Our role is to fundraise capital from the community and contribute those funds to the City of Swift Current once a project is funded, approved, and shovel-ready. Community fundraising is a key factor in securing government grants and funding successful capital projects.
Projects in the pipeline include an aquatic leisure centre and a multi-sport field house. These projects have been chosen, in this order, based on current facility conditions, feasibility, and grant funding available.
Update:
In September 2024, City Council passed a vote to apply to the current round of the Federal Government’s Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Grant Program. This grant may cover up to 50% of building costs. City Council voted to cover the remaining building costs if the grant application is successful.

What is the purpose of the foundation?
The Southwest Facility Foundation is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board of directors.
Our purpose is to provide a vessel for the Southwest to donate & contribute to the construction of new recreation facilities in Swift Current such as an aquatic leisure centre and field house.
Along with fundraising, our mission is to show community support and involvement to other levels of government. We want to improve the chances for the City of Swift Current to receive building grants from provincial and federal governments.
Our goal is to raise $8 million to donate to the City of Swift Current once a new recreation facility project is funded and approved. The SWFF is not responsible for selecting projects or the construction of them, but to work alongside the City of Swift Current to help make these projects a reality.
