SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Southwest Facility Foundation officially launched in April of 2023 with a fundraising goal of $8,000,000 (8 million) to help support the construction of new sport, leisure, and recreational facilities in Swift Current. The Southwest Facility Foundation is excited to continue to announce commitments to the campaign.

We are pleased to announce that Mercator Financial has come on board with a commitment of $25,000 over five (5) years.  In addition, Norm and Jody Tonnies have personally committed $25,000 for a total of $50,000.

“2024 represents Mercator Financials’ 25th anniversary of offering Financial Planning services in the city of Swift Current.  My partners and I as well as the founders of our company have a long history of supporting many initiatives within our community and surrounding area and collectively we agree that the need for a new facility is something that will no doubt benefit the lives of our clients and their families and all residents of our great city.  My wife Jody and I are grateful for the many facilities that our three children had access to while growing up and we both felt it important to do our part to see to it that these much-needed facilities become a reality for us all in the future” said Norm Tonnies.

“The support we’re seeing from the community is phenomenal,” states Board Member Caitlin Mann. “Businesses and individuals are stepping up with big donations and that’s a clear sign - it’s time to build it. Our campaign is building momentum with over $600,000 in commitments to date, more on the way… and we’re just getting started.”
