SWIFT CURRENT, SK – We are excited to announce that the Kiwanis Foundation of Hope Gala held in April 2024, raised $285,000 to be donated to the Southwest Facility Foundation.

The Kiwanis of Swift Current hosted a glamorous evening at the Living Sky Casino with dinner and a live auction. The Gala raised a total of $310,000 in large part by all the major sponsors and generous support from the crowd! From the $310,000, $285,000 will be committed to the Southwest Facilities Foundation.  The success of the event was in part thanks to partnerships with these generous donors, who will receive recognition from the SWFF;

$30,000 - Plewis Automotive Group

$10,000 - MNP,  Sask Valley Dental, Redhead Equipment, Stark & Marsh, Wallace Construction, Pattison Ag, Beachcomber Hot Tubs/Wheatland Machine Shop, and SWT

$5,000 - Mercator Financial, Pioneer Co-op, and Vision Care Clinic

The Kiwanis Foundation of Hope Gala commitment takes the Foundation to over $2.78 million committed in support of future recreational facility construction decisions made by City Council. The City of Swift Current will continue to leverage and lobby all levels of government for their assistance and support of future projects.

“The Kiwanis Club of Swift Current was extremely excited to be able to participate in a project that supports the construction of a future multi-use facility for our community and region, and even more pleased with the dollars that were ultimately raised,” commented Kiwanis Club President Elden Moberg. “We are humbled with the support of those in the community that contributed to the event and to the project as a whole, and are very proud of our Gala committee members who did an outstanding job of putting together such an enjoyable evening.”

Along with fundraising, part of the Foundation’s mission is to share and educate the community about the need, importance, and benefits of new recreation facilities in Swift Current.

“The Kiwanis motto of “Serving the Children of the World” is well exemplified by this very generous donation of funds raised at the Kiwanis Foundation of Hope Gala.  We are very grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current and their partners for bringing SWFF closer to our goal. An aquatic leisure centre and multi-sport fieldhouse, when constructed, will have a huge impact on Southwest Saskatchewan.  It will allow for the hosting of local tournaments, the engagement of more family members supporting the events, and reduced travel time & costs for families. Thank you for your involvement in this very exciting project!” – Betty McDougall, SWFF Board Member
