City Council officially signed the agreement on Monday, September 30 at the Council meeting. The naming rights agreement is with the City of Swift Current. It is a 10-year term with payments of $100,000 (one hundred thousand) per year for 10 years beginning on ground-breaking of the construction project.
“We invest in our communities just like we invest in our land. Growing up here and with the Monette Farms Foundation based here in Swift Current, this project means a lot to us. We believe in giving back to our communities and the value of wellness and sport. A multi-sport complex is so important to our employees, our communities, and the future of the Southwest.” – Darrel Monette, CEO of Monette Farms.
Monette Farm’s commitment takes the Southwest Facility Foundation to over $2.35 million dollars committed to support future recreational facility construction decisions made by City Council. The City of Swift Current will continue to leverage and lobby all levels of government for their assistance and support of future projects.
"To see Monette Farms contribute this large donation solidifies the idea that they and others know the important impact recreational facilities have on communities. There are so many benefits for everyone in seeing recreation as a part of our daily lives. Monette Farms is a fine example of expansion and progress and their support for advancing recreational facilities in Swift Current is a great leap for the future success of our community… and we want to give them a giant thank you!" - SWFF Chair, Sasha Godenir.
Along with fundraising, part of the Foundation’s mission is to share and educate the community about the need, importance, and benefits of new recreation facilities in Swift Current. New facilities provide much-needed space for residents of all ages to gather and participate in a variety of recreational activities, fostering a healthy and active community. Modern recreation facilities benefit the entire Southwest by improving the quality of life and poising our City as an even better place to live. They are proven to provide significant boosts to tourism, economic activity, and future growth.
