SWIFT CURRENT, SK – We are excited to announce that Whitecap Resources has committed $20,000 over five (5) years for a total of $100,000 to the Southwest Facility Foundation campaign.

Whitecap’s commitment takes the Foundation to over $2.35 million committed to support future recreational facility construction decisions made by City Council. The City of Swift Current will continue to leverage and lobby all levels of government for their assistance and support of future projects.

“Whitecap's community investment policy is focused on supporting charities with an emphasis on children's health, education and wellness. In the communities in which we operate and live, we look to our employees for interests and causes that are close to their hearts and families. In Southwest Saskatchewan, new recreation facilities definitely fit this mandate and we’re really excited to make this commitment to the Southwest Facility Foundation and the future of the Southwest” - Vaughn Penley, Whitecap Resources

Along with fundraising, part of the Foundation’s mission is to share and educate the community about the need, importance, and benefits of new recreation facilities in Swift Current. New facilities provide much-needed space for residents of all ages to gather and participate in a variety of recreational activities, fostering a healthy and active community.

"This significant donation from Whitecap reflects their commitment to giving back and supporting the community they live and work in. It is great to see oil and gas producing companies like Whitecap, who are criterial to the economy and community here in Southwest Saskatchewan, supporting this great initiative and foundation", said SWFF Board Member, Dallas Mohagen.

New facilities would service and benefit the entire Southwest community by improving the quality of life and boosting tourism, economic activity, and future growth for Southwest Saskatchewan. The City of Swift Current continues to leverage and lobby all levels of government for their assistance and support of future projects, and apply for any applicable funding and grants.
